March 8-12, Youth Leadership Safety Program Course

March 24, The New Jersey Office of Homeland Security & Preparedness (OHSP) and the New Jersey Association of School Resource Officers (NJASRO) will be co-hosting a School Security/Terrorism Awareness Train-The-Trainer workshop

April 26-30, Basic SRO (Morris County Police Academy)

July 12-16, Basic SRO (Ocean County Police Academy)

Oct. 25-29, , Basic SRO ( (Atlantic County Police Academy)

Attendees will be given a working knowledge of the school resource officer concept and other school based policing programs. There will be a written examination and at least one graded practical exercise for each student. Basic course attendees will also be required to research and complete a handwritten lesson plan on a law related topic of their choice. Officers will receive the Basic or Advanced SRO Course Certificate respectively, upon successful completion of the course. N.J.A.S.R.O. is offering these training classes for the law enforcement officer working in an educational environment.
