March 8-12, Youth Leadership Safety Program Course
March 24- The New Jersey Office of Homeland Security & Preparedness (OHSP) and the New Jersey Association of School Resource Officers (NJASRO) will be co-hosting a School Security/Terrorism Awareness Train-The-Trainer workshop
April 8- NJASRO in conjunction with the Hillsdale Police Department will hold a 1-day seminar in DRE training at the Bergen County Police Academy- register here.
April 15, The New Jersey Office of Homeland Security & Preparedness, the U.S. Attorney’s Office, and the New Jersey Association of School Resource Officers (NJASRO) will sponsor a one day seminar on “Violence Against Our Schools”, register here.
April 28- NJ State Parole in conucntion with (NJASRO) and Hackensack Public Schools present Sexual Predator Awareness Training- 6pm Hackensack High School. Course registration. View CBS article and video on this event.

Basic School Resource Officer Training Course:

Attendees will be given a working knowledge of the school resource officer concept
and other school based policing programs. There will be a written examination and at least
one graded practical exercise for each student. Basic course attendees will also
be required to research and complete a handwritten lesson plan on a law related topic of
their choice. Officers will receive the Basic or Advanced SRO Course Certificate respectively,
upon successful completion of the course. N.J.A.S.R.O. is offering these training classes
for the law enforcement officer working in an educational environment.
